LULING — Tammy Louviere has been named Teacher of the Year at R.K. Smith Middle School in Luling. Louviere’s love of children and desire to have a positive impact on society and children led her to a teaching career. She has been a teacher for 12 years, all at R.K. Smith.

Louviere has taught all core subjects for sixth through eighth grades.

She has served as a sixth grade team leader, special education team leader, new teacher mentor, school Improvement team member and cadre leader.

She is currently a Jr. Beta sponsor and leads new teacher orientation and Handle With Care training at R.K. Smith.
