BATON ROUGE — A St. Charles Parish man is facing dozens of child pornography counts, state authorities said.
Ian Butler of Hahnville was arrested on 50 counts of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children.
Butler, 19, was booked into the St. Charles Parish jail following a joint investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
His arrest was one of six announced Jan. 18 by Attorney General Jeff Landry, who said the arrests of six Louisiana men included more than 200 counts of child pornography and exploitation.
“Since taking office last year, our team has made and/or assisted in over 100 child exploitation arrests,” Landry said.
“We are committed to ensuring child predators are taken off our streets; and my office will continue working tirelessly to bring these perpetrators to justice.”
