Glenn “Skip” Allen passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017.

He was 68, a native of Gramercy, a former resident of Gonzales and resided at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home for the past year.
Skip proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Western Southern Life Insurance Company after 20 years of faithful service.
His many passions included spending time with his grandchildren, dancing and breeding birds.
He was the beloved husband of Katheleen Vicknair Allen; father of Casey Allen Sr. (Holly), Byron Acosta (Sheila), David Acosta (Misty), Jeffrey Acosta (Kathy) and the late Chad Allen (Rebecca); son of Marie Arceneaux and Gerry ‘Guy’ Allen; brother of Michael Allen, grandfather of Baylie, Gage, Emalee, Malaya, Lil Casey, Cain, Zachary, Jeremy, Jade Rose, Denise, Desiree and Destiny; great grandfather of Jenevieve; and godson of Arthur “Artie” Arceneaux.
He is also survived by many friends and extended family members.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to his Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home Family, Heart of Hospice and Fr. John Lambert for their genuine compassion shown during this time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Requiem Mass at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy. in LaPlace on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.
Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m.
Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery with Military Honors.
