LAPLACE — Deputy Cody Schmill was recognized as Deputy of the Month by the St. John Business Association during its January meeting Wednesday at Petra’s Restaurant in LaPlace.

Schmill was honored for his exceptional police work that led to the arrests of three burglary suspects in three different incidents in less than two months.

Schmill also received a proclamation from Lt. Governor Nungesser who was the guest speaker at the meeting.
