LAPLACE — The sixth grade students at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School have been learning about endothermic and exothermic reactions.

They recently completed an experiment with ammonium nitrate to explore endothermic reactions.

Another activity on exothermic reactions created excitement as the polyurethane caused a reaction that resulted in the foam rising over the cups.

The students also experimented with the changing rate of reactions by changing surface area.
