Jan. 7, 1988: Mike Snow, right, Administrator for River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace presents checks in excess of $171,000 to Sheriff Lloyd B. Johnson, Tax Collector for St. John Parish. The presentation was made in the Sheriff’s office in LaPlace. The money represents the hospital’s 1987 property tax. At more than 4 years old, River Parishes Hospital was the first full-service hospital in St. John the Baptist Parish.
