LUTCHER — St. James Parish Relay for Life Leadership Team members were extremely thankful following the recent Love Lights a Tree Fundraiser.

Community Members generously purchased keepsake ornaments “in memory” or “in honor” of loved ones as a fundraiser for American Cancer Society. A tree was sponsored at the Bonfire Festival to display the ornaments and a ceremony was held to honor local survivors.

Each survivor was presented a gift.

The Relay Leadership Team looks forward to continuing this fundraising tradition to honor all those touched by cancer during the holiday season.

This year’s Leadership Team is led by Brandi Louque, Chair (brandilouque@hotmail.com); Bridget Matherne, Co-Chair (bridget_louque@yahoo.com) and ACS Relay Specialist Lauren Bolles (lauren.bolles@cancer.org).

Those interested in learning more who can’t make a meeting can contact one of the event leaders or visit the parish’s Relay Facebook Page (search @stjamesrelay).

The Relay Facebook Page is a great resource to learn about team fundraisers, upcoming meetings and events and to print luminaria and fundraising forms.
