LAPLACE — A local man was arrested in St. Helena Parish after authorities said he robbed a LaPlace McDonald’s of cash and coins.
According to authorities, the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Zechariah David Collins, 35, in Greensburg on Tuesday, charging him with simple burglary-immovable structure and contempt of court.
He is being held in lieu of a $30,169.50 bond and on a fugitive warrant for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 12 at approximately 5 a.m., St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to McDonald’s on U.S. 51 in reference to a burglary. Authorities said a review of recorded video surveillance identified Collins a suspect.
