NEW ORLEANS — West St. John High School’s National Art Honor Society has been working on its first community project of the year — its Celebration in the Oaks tree decoration at New Orleans City Park.
Maya Sanders came up with this year’s theme of “Christmas on Safari,” and students painted masks to produce a jungle that will be housed in the swamps of New Orleans City Park.
This year’s art honor society is the largest in school history, school leaders said.
National Art Honor Society officers from West St. John include Vice President Briana Grayman, President Glasia Walker and Treasurer Chris Holmes.
