Robottom: Vote ‘Yes’ for juvenile justice system
Published 12:03 am Saturday, November 26, 2016
Please allow me this opportunity to encourage you to vote YES on a proposal to rededicate existing tax revenue to our parish’s juvenile justice system.
THIS MEASURE IS NOT A NEW TAX, NOR A TAX INCREASE. It would simply allow parish government to use taxes we already collected to maintain and improve the services provided by our juvenile justice system.
With voter approval, the parish will be more able to prevent rather than react to juvenile crime. A “Yes” vote will fund additional preventative measures, including improving the home monitoring system, housing and transporting juveniles and paying salaries of the personnel who work in the system.
This measure will appear on the Saturday/Dec. 10 ballot. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. that day.
You may also vote early from today until Saturday/Dec. 3 (except Sunday/Nov. 27) from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Percy Hebert Building in LaPlace and the Edgard Courthouse.
I urge you to join me in voting “Yes” to this opportunity to enhance parish juvenile justice services with NO INCREASE IN TAXES.
