Jana Christine Laurent passed away Nov. 7, 2016, just a week before her 30th birthday, after a six-month battle with ovarian cancer.
Laurent was born on Nov. 15, 1986, on a beautiful Saturday morning before LSU whipped Mississippi State in epic fashion with a score of 47-0.

Jana “Banana” is survived by her mother, Karen DeLong; father, Lionel Laurent, step mother, Beverly Laurent; Maw Maw Glenda DeLong; sister Jennifer Dufour; brothers Jason Dufour (Jessica) and Briley Laurent (Ashley); the love of her life, Mike Pusey; her nieces, Bailey, Kailey and Ava; and her nephews Trey, Ethan and Evan.
She is also survived by a slew of the best friends and family anyone could ever have.
Laurent was preceded in death by her Pop Pop, Richard Delong; her Grandpa Torriet Laurent; and beloved Granny Anna Mae Laurent.
Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace, with a private family visitation from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and public visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mass is at 11 a.m., and a reception follows.
