- Oct. 23, 1980: All the slicing, dicing, peeling and chopping of the ingredients for the food to be consumed at the Andouille Festival was done at the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department’s Central Firehouse. Head chef Murville Pitre shows a portion of the 18 cases of bell peppers chopped. With him is Beverly Beckholt of the LVFD Ladies Auxiliary.
Oct. 28, 1992: Lawrence Duhe of LaPlace caught this 30-pound, 30-inch catfish.
