Keller: Tim Davis impacted River Region through life of service

I believe most people have intentions of leaving a legacy that would have a positive impact on those they leave behind. A legacy of integrity is the greatest gift for which anyone could be remembered.

Men of integrity are in short supply, but 23 years ago God put such a person in my life.

Tim Davis came to Reserve with his wife, Pam, and his children.

He was from Kentucky and had a unique country drawl and worked for a construction company at Shell for 20 years.

Tim and I attended the same church, but never socialized, except at church functions. I noticed he was always the first to volunteer when things needed to be done.

Tim encouraged me more than anyone else as I labored in God’s ministry of Get High on Life.

He worked for two churches in the area and was one of the most valuable members of these ministries. No, he never preached a sermon or was named to any committee.

What made Tim so special? He was a humble servant and a God-fearing man who displayed a Christian attitude in everything he did and with all the people he met.

The Bible says that to be great among many, you have to be a servant to all. Tim is one person I know that has peace because of his integrity.

Integrity is defined as the quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity. That describes my friend, Tim Davis.

Last week, he moved back home to Harney, Ky., because the doctor advised him it was time to slow down.

His stay in our area was successful, because everything he did was as though he was performing for only one and that one was his Heavenly Father.

Tim didn’t receive any reward on this earth, but when he sees God he’ll hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
