Edna Martin Melancon died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at 12:11 p.m. at River Parish Hospital/Ochsner at the age of 90.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen M. Audiffred and Suzanne M. Remondet (Ralph); her grandchildren, Roman Remondet (Adele), Danielle R. Simon (Kenneth), and Rod Remondet (Heidi); her great-grandchildren, Abby, Logan, and Clark Remondet; Kenley and Hayden Simon, and Sutton Remondet; great-great-grandchild Bentley Remondet; sister Lucille Babin (Louis); and sister-in-law Gertrude Melancon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel V. Melancon; her parents, Edward and Annette D. Martin; son-in-law Stephen “Brad” Audiffred; brother Nichol Martin; and sisters Hilda Waguespack, Irene Leblanc, Ethel Leblanc and Enola Duplessis.

A visitation in her honor will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 9 until 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
