HOUMA — The Bayou River Region Senior Olympics Bowling was held at Creole Lanes in Houma in late spring.

Chuck Wisher was the lone participant from St. John the Baptist Parish.

Chuck bowled Men’s Doubles with Julius Calcagno of Luling, and they won Gold.

Chuck won gold in Men’s Singles.

The throws were held at Paulina Park, where Chuck won gold in Softball Distance, Softball Accuracy and Football Accuracy.

Other events normally held at West Bank Bridge Park — advanced horseshoes, javelin, discus and shot put, that Chuck usually does, were cancelled due to weather.

The LaPlace Senior Foursome bowled in the Greater New Orleans Senior Olympic Games at Colonial Lanes in Harahan in the spring.

Lynn Champagne won Silver in Women’s Singles.

Maggie Landry won Silver in Mixed Doubles with Larry Ridlen.

Larry Ridlen won Silver in Mixed Doubles and Silver in Men’s Doubles with Chuck Wisher.

Chuck Wisher won Silver in Men’s Doubles and Gold in Men’s Singles.

This same team was the champions of the St. Charles Recreation League for the 2015-16 season at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.
