LAPLACE — The Lutheran Church of the Galilean is sponsoring its annual Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the church parking lot, located at 3404 U.S. 51 in LaPlace.

The church started Trunk or Treat several years ago as a safe and free trick-or-treat for area children and families. The event is one of the many outreach programs the church’s congregation offers to the residents of the River Parishes.

Children will be able to receive candy and other treats from the trunks of decorated cars.

Free food, drinks and games will also be available. Besides prizes for best decorated vehicles, there will be judging of the best child and adult costumes.

Local residents of the River Parishes are encouraged to participate by registering their vehicles.
