St. Peter welcomes community to Fishermen’s Festival Oct. 8-9

RESERVE — St. Peter Catholic School in Reserve will hold its annual Fishermen’s Festival Oct. 8-9 on the school grounds, located at 188 W. 7th St.

The event, named in honor of St. Peter’s roots as a fisherman, will feature several attractions, including a rock climbing wall, a 22-foot Rockin’ Rapids, a 70-foot Mardi Gras Obstacle Challenge, Zorb Ball is X track, a wrecking ball, Mickey Mouse Toddler Learning Center and Octago Arena with jousting, basketball and soccer.

There also will be plenty of games, crafts, raffles, a parade of prizes, the annual pageant, a Kids’ Bake Off and Sauce Piquant Cook Off.

Anyone interested in competing may visit the school web site, stpeterreserve.org, to download an entry form.

Entry to the festival is free and bracelets will be sold for the various attractions. One-day bracelets are $10 in advance (before Oct. 7) for St. Peter students, $20 for non-students. Weekend bracelets are $15 in advance (before Oct. 7) for students, $35 for non-students. All proceeds will benefit the school.

The fair opens at noon Oct. 8.

The Back At It Band will play from 1-4 p.m.

The junior, teen, Miss and Ms. Fishermen’s Festival Pageant begins at 4 p.m.

The Cook Off and Bake Off judging begins at 5 p.m., with all the entries going on sale at 6 p.m.

The St. Peter School Talent Show begins at 7 p.m. Image will play from 7:30-10:30 p.m., with the fair closing at 11 p.m.

A 5K run/walk begins Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m. Adults 13-over may pre-register through today for $20.

The pre-registration fee for children 6-12 is $15. Children 5-under are free.

The festival reopens Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m., with a baked chicken lunch at 11 a.m. The Fishermen’s Festival Baby Pageant also begins at 11 a.m.

The River Rats will play from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A horseshoe tournament begins at 1 p.m.

Shot Time will play from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Super Prize Bingo begins at 4 p.m. Prize and raffle winners will be announced at 5 p.m. before the fair closing at 5:30 p.m.
