LAPLACE — At the end of the school Mass Sept. 8, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School celebrated the birthday of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

While all in attendance sang “Happy Birthday” to Mary, kindergarten student Leah Williams carried a candle-lit cupcake down the aisle and placed it by the statue of Mary. She was escorted by her seventh grade buddies Lauren Weber and Chloe Genovese.
