Cypress Physical Therapy helps on recovery’s road

LAPLACE — Owner Chris Cancienne, wife Aimee, family, friends and a host of parish officials celebrated the ribbon cutting and opening of Cypress Physical Therapy, located at 607 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace.

With plenty of fanfare, Cypress Physical Therapy was welcomed into the business community Monday morning, celebrated as a locally-owned and operated physical therapy clinic offering outpatient physical therapy and other services, including manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, post-surgical rehab and sports performance rehab and work conditioning.

Clinic staff includes owner and Doctor of Physical Therapy Chris Cancienne and office manager Rebecca Specht.

“I look forward to assisting patients on the road to recovery from an injury or surgery-related condition,” Cancienne said.

“As a lifelong resident of the River Region, the health of our community is important to me, and I know patients will feel the difference when they leave.”

Cancienne obtained his doctorate degree at LSU Health Sciences Center of New Orleans in 2011 and his bachelor’s degree at LSU in 2007. His post-graduate certifications include Functional Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage and Functional Capacity Evaluations, and he is trained in other various manual therapy techniques.

Since obtaining his doctorate degree, Cancienne has been serving patients of the River Region in the outpatient setting as well as in the home. He has treated local high school, college and professional athletes and in a wide range of sports.

Cancienne said his passion for teaching the community as a whole how to better take care of their bodies and best recovery from injury led him to open his own state-of-the-art facility and dream clinic in LaPlace.
