GONZALES — River Parishes Community College will reprint at no cost to graduates any diploma or certificate earned at RPCC that was destroyed in the recent flood.

“It’s just one more way we can help our fellow citizens regain some of their history,” said Dale Doty, Chancellor of RPCC.

“Many of the industries in our area require certification for the jobs available in instrumentation, process technology, welding, truck and equipment operation, for example.

“We don’t want anyone to lose a chance at a job or promotion because their college or workforce credentials were lost in the flood.”

The college’s buildings remained dry during the recent flood, according to Doty. Classes for the fall semester were delayed a week, but the halls are full again as students try to get back to normal.

Graduates who lost their RPCC diplomas or certificates in the flood should call the main college number 743-8500 to request a reprinted diploma or certificate.

River Parishes Community College focuses on building the workforce of today and tomorrow through specific skill training and providing transferable courses and curricula leading to certification and associate degrees. RPCC works closely with its communi-ties to provide programs for personal, professional and academic growth.
