Authorities are investigating a fatal boating case in St. John the Baptist Parish.

Adam Einck, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesman, said the incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. Monday in the Hope Canal in St. John Parish.

He said details on the victim and circumstances surrounding the fatality are unknown at this time.

According to authorities, there is one fatality and the incident involved a single vessel.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officials are also looking into an unrelated boating fatality that occurred Sunday in St. Mary Parish, Einck said.
