Burl Family Reunion organizers would like to thank all those that traveled from near or far to be a part of this year’s extravaganza, which took place Sept. 2-4 in Reserve with a theme of “Remembering the Past. Embracing the Present. Planting seeds for the Future.”

During the three-day weekend, we honored our legends, and paid homage to our oldest living relative, Herbert “Daddy June” Burl, 86, following the passing of Albert “Red Bill” Burl Sr., who departed this life at age 90.

Family members flew in from California, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Mississippi and other parts of the United States. The reunion was filled with games and contests like the: jambalaya cook-off, family feud and family dance off.

Plans have already begun to host the 2018 Burl Family Reunion!
