LAPLACE — More than a dozen people enjoyed breakfast goodies and fun fellowship Thursday morning at Place Dubourg in LaPlace.
The retirement and assisted living facility’s staff members hosted their monthly Coffee Talk Social at 9 a.m. as a way to encourage residents to socialize by drinking coffee and eating donuts in the facility’s lobby with all who are interested.
Thursday’s social was sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts. Assistant manager Madeline Brewer and shift manager Jessica Scott delivered the treats and spent some time with the residents after.
Resident Geraldine Brown, who has been at Place Dubourg four years, said she loves the social aspects of Coffee Talk, adding she tries to help out other residents by taking them into town whenever she can.
