Gunfire erupts in St. John: 1 wounded, 2 vehicles struck

RESERVE — A string of gunfire late Thursday in St. John Parish left a local man wounded and damage to multiple vehicles.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a 29-year-old Reserve man with a wound to his lower right leg after responding to a home in the 1600 block of Natchez Lane in Reserve at 11:44 p.m.
Emergency medical services transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment, and the victim’s condition was not immediately known Friday morning.
Over the course of the initial investigation, Sheriff Mike Tregre said investigators determined the victim was shot in the 1500 block of Grant Drive and fled on foot to the residence on Natchez Lane.
In addition to the victim’s vehicle being shot, deputies found another vehicle and a mailbox on Grant Drive with gunshot holes.
Detectives have no suspect information at this time and encourage anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822- 1111.
Those who call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward.
