Detectives arrested Bruce Butler Jr., 22, of LaPlace Friday night and identified Frederick Seymore Jr., 22, of LaPlace as the second suspect wanted in connection with the homicide.

The killing occurred at approximately 3:43 p.m. Friday at LaPlace Discount, located at the corner of West Airline Highway and Cambridge Drive in LaPlace. Tregre said the perpetrators fled the scene in a red 2013 Toyota Corolla with license plate ZNY406.

Seymour remains at large, Tregre said.

The red Toyota Corolla’s passenger side mirror was hanging, and prior to Friday’s killing, the car had a bullet hole in the lower section of the right rear fender.

Detectives booked Butler with principal to second-degree murder. He remains in custody in lieu of a $750,000 bond.

Seymore remains at large. He is wanted for second-degree murder.
