LAPLACE — The Lutheran Church of the Galilean’s outreach team is teaming up again this school year to help Emily C. Watkins Elementary School in LaPlace with school supplies and other needs.
This is the third year Galilean has worked with the school by providing a wide range of school supplies and other help.
Funds for the outreach come from the church’s CHOICE DOLLARS received from members who have financial/insurance programs with Thrivent Financial.
Cecelia Enault and her team of shoppers recently gathered the needed school supplies. In addition to the CHOICE DOLLARS, some funding is coming from Thrivent member’s ACTION TEAM efforts.
Church members, including the Rev. Ken Shuman, Carl Hilt, Joe Sparcella and Mike Enault, delivered the supplies to the school this week.
Church leaders said school staff members were pleased and appreciative of the amount of supplies delivered.
