RESERVE — The Boil Water Advisory for Water District #1, which includes Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy, has been lifted, parish officials announced Thursday afternoon.

Test results by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals were negative for contaminants, and the water is safe for consumption, a release from St. John the Baptist Parish said.

The advisory was caused by a power outage at Lions Water Plant in Reserve and generator malfunction.

As a result, Water District #1 water customers can resume normal water use.

“St. John the Baptist Parish Utilities Department and Administration appreciate water customers’ patience during this unforeseen event and apologize for the inconvenience bestowed on residents and businesses in the affected area,” a parish release said.
