St. John Sugar Queen informative meeting Monday

St. John Sugar Queen will celebrate its 68th year of pageantry this month.
The pageant, sponsored by the St. John Sugar Queen Committee and St. John Parish, will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at St. John Theatre in Reserve.
Any ladies who are residents of St. John the Baptist Parish and between 15-17 (Teen) and 18-22 (Miss) and interested in participating in this year’s pageant can join Committee officials for 6 p.m. Monday (Aug. 1) at Salon Experience in LaPlace for a meeting.
This will be an informative meeting.
Attendees will also be able to meet reigning Miss Queen Darian Marse and Teen Queen Jade Brady, as well as the committee. This year’s theme is St. John Sugar Queen presents “Once Upon A Time.”
A deserving young lady will be awarded the honor of representing St. John Parish at the State Sugar Festival in New Iberia.
The Sugar Pageant is one of the parish’s premier events and helps promote pride in St. John Parish.
“Our queens have always been outstanding ambassadors, showcasing the spirit of St. John Parish at home and in statewide competition,” organizers said.
