LAPLACE — Assistance For Single Parents is hosting a School Uniform Giveaway for eligible, employed single parents who reside in St. John the Baptist Parish.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at New Wine Christian Fellowship, 1929 West Airline Highway in LaPlace.

Employed single parents that reside in St. John Parish are invited to participate after completing an online registration form.

“Gently used” school uniforms and accessories will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Nonprofit Assistance For Single Parents recently partnered with St. John United Way and is expanding outreach to St. John Parish.

The organization provides assistance to employed single parents with supportive services, empowerment and resource referrals.
