LAPLACE — Academic Year in America is looking for those who would like to learn all about a foreign country’s culture, language traditions and lifestyle while contributing to world peace and helping to bring visitors to the Greater New Orleans area from around the world.
Colleen Robinson, local coordinator for Academic Year in America high school exchange program, is interviewing families to host international students during the coming academic year.
Boys and girls, 15-18 years of age, will arrive in mid-August from Europe, South America and Asia to attend high school for one semester or the full school year.
All students have studied English, have their own spending money, pay for their own school lunches and expenses and have full medical insurance.
Families may choose the gender, age and nationality of the student they host.
Founded more than 30 years ago with the help of the late Robert Kennedy, Academic Year in America is one of the oldest and most reputable international student travel/study programs.
