Press conference scheduled following LaPlace woman’s fatal stabbing

KENNER — Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser has scheduled a press conference today in relation to the robbery and stabbing that took place Wednesday at Raising Cane’s in Kenner. A 21-year-old LaPlace woman died as a result of the stabbing.

Glaser is holding the press conference at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) regarding new developments, motive and additional arrests in the investigation concerning the murder of Taylor Friloux, 21, shift manager at the Raising Canes, located at 3344 Williams Blvd. in Kenner.

The press conference will be held at the City of Kenner, Office of Emergency Management, 1610 Rev. Richard Wilson Drive in Kenner.

Joshua Every, 23, was arrested in LaPlace Wednesday, authorities said, after being identified as a suspect in the fatal stabbing.

Kenner police also confirmed a second arrest, as well as the questioning of a third person.

Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich said Friloux died Wednesday morning following her stabbing at the restaurant. Authorities said Friloux was the store’s shift manager.

At approximately 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, the Kenner Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Raising Cane’s, located at 3344 Williams Blvd. in Kenner.

Upon officers’ arrival at the location, they learned two men wearing grey hoodies had robbed the restaurant.

During the armed robbery, Friloux was stabbed multiple times by one of the perpetrators, police said.

After the stabbing, two perpetrators fled the business to an awaiting vehicle. It is believed, at minimum, three people were involved in the robbery.

Friloux was taken to an area hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.
