LAPLACE — Reading! Rhythm! Readiness! continues throughout June and July to promote St. John Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program.
The weekly event is hosted on every Wednesday at the Central Library in LaPlace at 10 a.m. Children between 3 and 5 are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Lynn Braud, Children’s/Outreach Librarian, at 985-652-6857.
The Central Library’s June 15 special guests were Letitia Stewart and her daughter, Sydney Stewart, who read their book, “Beautiful, Wonderful, Marvelous Me!” to a host of children and their parents or teachers.
Letitia Stewart and Sydney Stewart are a mother-daughter duo promoting reading and learning in a way that is fun, lively and fulfilling.
“Beautiful, Wonderful, Marvelous Me!” is their debut that was released in March from a series of books to be published promoting self-awareness and self-confidence.
Victoria Stewart, daughter of Letitia and younger sister of Sydney, is featured throughout the illustrations in the book. The book is available at all four branches of the St. John the Baptist Parish Library system, as well as Amazon.com.
