Rotary Club gives scholarships to high school students

LAPLACE—The Allene Gregoire Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to two East St. John High School students; Crystal Dabney and Rayson Knight.

Dabney will attend Nicholls State University in Thibodaux and Knight will attend Southern University in Baton Rouge.
Kenneth Johnson from West St. John High School also received a $1,000 scholarship but was not present.
Gregoire was an educator in the St. John Parish Public Schools and a member of the Rotary Club of LaPlace until her death in 2010.
