Photo Feature: Children enjoy fishing fun

- First time fisher Demi Martin won the biggest fish for girls trophy during a kids fishing camp. Sheriff Mike Tregre assisted with her catches. Local volunteers spent the morning of June 4 with several local children, reelin’ them in at the annual kids fishing camp hosted by the 40th Judicial District Children & Youth Services Planning Board and Prevention Committee in the Bonnet Carre Spillway near Norco. With pole and bait in hand, Tregre and officers Blane Rome Jr., Gene Weinert and Randall Joseph joined several children for the fishing excursion held around the spillway’s boat launch.
