LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Parks and Recreation Department began its summer swimming season with the opening of the parish public pools Tuesday.

The East Bank pool is located at 194 Regala Park Road in Reserve, and the West Bank pool is located at 136 Castle Dr. in Edgard.

The Parks and Recreation Summer Camp and other parish camps will have an opportunity to use the facility during private hours, and the pool is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays throughout the summer.

Pool hours of operation for the East and West Bank pools are:

Monday: Closed

Tuesday -Thursday: 4 to 8 p.m.

Friday: 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday: 2 to 6 p.m.

Sunday: 2 to 6 p.m.

Additionally, free swimming lessons are being offered to Parish youth and adults through July.
