Robichaux: Flag program plans to inspire all

Published 12:03 am Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Please mark your calendar for the 11th of June at 2 p.m. at the War Veterans Home, 4080 W. Airline Highway in Reserve.

Please come see a program about the American Flag that you will never forget. Inspiration will be the order of the day.

The American Legion Post 383 of LaPlace is doing a formal and educational program about the American Flag. In conjunction with the VFW post 3337, the Boys Scouts Of America (principally troop 406), the Young Marines of St. John the Baptist Parish and many volunteers from various Veterans organizations, along with representation from all first responders, we will be present an Honor Line during the Flag retirement part of the ceremony.

This is a program you won’t want to miss.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for St. John Ministry of Care food bank if possible.

A $1 or more donation for the American Legion children and youth programs will put you in the drawing for a $100 Walmart gift card, a 3×5 American Flag, ball caps and other items.

A bag of free popcorn and water will be available to the children, along with some other items.

Please, come join us, and be inspired all over again by the American Flag. Come let it speak to you. If you dare!

The members and officers of Post 383 want to thank you in advance for your kind consideration of this worthy ceremony! We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.
