- June 4, 2008: Bob Wetta and Bill Wetta of Reserve-based Dredging Supply Company (DSC) joined President George W. Bush and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez at the White House to accept the Presidential “E” Award for excellence in exporting. Created by John F. Kennedy in 1961, the award is the highest honor the federal government gives to American companies that have made significant contributions to the increase of American exports. June 1, 1972: Ronald Dorris of Garyville is congratulated by Xavier University President Norman C. Francis after Dorris received the university’s highest honor, the Katherine Drexel Ward, given to the student who best exemplifies “the most outstanding spirit of services and cooperation in the varied interests of the university.” Dorris, who majored in English, also received the university’s Service Key.
