Roundup: Gramercy man sentenced to time served for carnal knowledge of juvenile

CONVENT — A St. James Parish man was released on time served following his guilty plea for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Ricardo Cabrera of Gramercy pleaded guilty to felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on five years supervised probation.

District Attorney Ricky L. Babin’s office announced Cabrera’s plea, along with others that occurred during the week of May 2-6 in the 23rd Judicial District Court.

Others included:

Anthony Duhon of Gramercy pleaded guilty to possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance and was sentenced to four years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

Duhon, 38, was credit for time served, had the sentence suspended and placed on four years supervised probation.

Crondell Flowers of Luling pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was sentenced to five years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The imposed sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

Assistant District Attorneys Bruce Mohon and Steven Tureau prosecuted the above cases.
