St. Joan of Arc remembers Julia Luna

The sixth grade classes at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace gathered Tuesday morning to dedicate a bench to their late friend, Julia Luna.
Jodi Luna holds the plaque Tuesday and stands behind the bench dedicated to her daughter.
Julia, 11, passed away June 24, 2015, after an abscess was discovered in her brain.
Her mother, Jodi Luna, said it filled her heart with joy Tuesday to see the bench and the children honoring her daughter.
“It means the world to me that her class honors her this way, and will continue to remember her forever,” Jodi said.
Students held a fundraiser last summer, and a portion of the money raised went to buying the bench.
