LAPLACE — The left lane of Interstate 10 Westbound approaching Louisiana 3188 or Belle Terre Boulevard in St. John the Baptist Parish will be closed at 8 p.m. Saturday to prepare equipment for replacing a damaged bridge girder, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

The right lane will remain open until midnight.

Both lanes of traffic will be stopped for up to 20 minutes starting at 12 a.m. Sunday to remove the existing damaged girder. Once removal is complete, the right lane will be reopened.

During installation of the new girder, traffic will be stopped for 20 minutes between 12:45 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Sunday to install the new girder. Once the installation is complete, the right lane will be reopened.

Both lanes will be open at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Transportation department officials ask motorists to drive with caution through the work site and be on the lookout for crew members and equipment.
