The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office participated in Career Day April 21 at Riverside Academy in Reserve. Detective Thomas Ricks, right, a member of the Crisis Management Unit and U.S. Marshall Task Force, and Betsy Shinogle, left, 911 Assistant Commander, captured the attention of several high school students during presentations on their specific careers. Ricks and Shinogle spoke about the nature of their work, working conditions, training, salaries and related occupations.
