DESTREHAN — The River Road Historical Society Board of Directors announced the Destrehan Plantation Annual Fall Festival will resume next year on Nov. 11 and 12, 2017.

The Fall Festival has been the major fundraiser of the River Road Historical Society for the past 44 years. The 2016 festival will not be held because of projects going on throughout the site.

Destrehan Plantation is in its second year of its Master Plan Development and many portions of the grounds formally used for the annual event are under redevelopment.

Projects already completed in the master plan are a welcome center and new Administrative Center.

The first Bed and Breakfast Cottage is under construction and will be completed within the next few months, with the second to be completed by the end of the year.
