RESERVE — A Reserve father was arrested last week, accused of leaving bruises on his daughter’s arm and leg during a whipping incident, authorities said.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said detectives received information Thursday from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services regarding a physical abuse complaint of 10-year-old child.
The state caseworker met the family April 20, according to Tregre, and saw severe bruises on the girl’s arm and leg. The girl told the caseworker her father whipped her with a belt.
Detectives arrested Travis Williams, 35, of Reserve Thursday for cruelty to a juvenile.
Williams was released Friday after posting a $10,000 bond.
