St. Charles Parish names public works director

HAHNVILLE — Clayton “Snookie” Faucheux was confirmed by the St. Charles Parish Council as the Director of Public Works and Wastewater Monday.

He will start in early May.

“Clayton will bring industry experience and leadership qualities to this role,” Parish President Larry Cochran said. “With his council experience and past community involvement he will bring a unique understanding of parish government to Public Works.”

Faucheux will lead 209 employees in one of the parish’s largest departments from the Public Works main office at 100 River Oaks Drive in Destrehan.

Faucheux has worked for Motiva Enterprises since 1996 where he was first employed in operations before moving to a role as a reliability specialist, environmental business area representative, environmental field tech and his most recent position as an OGI specialist.

Additionally, Faucheux served two terms as the St. Charles Parish at-large councilman for Division B from 2000-2008 and was re-elected to the position in 2012 before resigning in 2013.

Faucheux brings a host of skills to St. Charles Parish including experience in upstream and downstream oil and gas, pipelines, supervision, occupational health, plant maintenance, industrial and workplace safety, instrumentation, process control and risk assessment.
