LUTCHER — Beginning April 30, St. James Urgent Care will be open Monday through Saturday in David Reynaud Medical Plaza located next to the hospital.
Currently, patients requiring care outside of clinic hours can conveniently walk-in to see a licensed practitioner from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starting April 30, according to hospital officials, patients will also have access to treatment from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Saturday.
Nurse practitioners at St. James Urgent Care have extensive experience in urgent care and emergency room settings and are overseen by board-certified physicians.
Hospital officials said St. James Urgent Care offers on-the-spot testing and treatment for urgent, non-life-threatening medical needs such as flu, strep, sinusitis, upper-respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, sports-related injuries, dehydration, abscesses and more.
St. James Urgent Care patients have access to other hospital services if needed and are not required to make appointments. The average time to be seen and treated (which can vary with tests) is approximately 30 minutes.
