The top-ranked LSU-Eunice Bengals reached the 40-win plateau Saturday with a victory against Delgado Community College. Prior to the opening game of the doubleheader, the Bengals honored the memory of Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Triche, who was killed in the line of duty on Aug. 16, 2012, while working for the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office. Triche played for the Bengals in 2004 and 05, and members of the family were present for the ceremony that included several of Triche’s former teammates.
