LUTCHER — The 43-member dance company of Yvonne’s Directions In Dance in Lutcher enjoyed a busy and remarkable year.

Company members started the season training with Hip Hop classes instructed by the owner of The Streetz Convention. Many guest teachers of various styles were instructors at the annual back to school boot camp. They also had the opportunity to attend the master ballet classes with the owner of Resurgence Dance Intensives held at the studio.

Community performances are a highlight of the dance season. This year the dancers entertained at the St. James Parish Lions Club Pumpkin Patch, Poche Plantation Arts and Crafts Show, Chateau St. James Rehab and Retirement home, Festival of the Bon Fires and Relay For Life.

They attended five regional dance competitions, winning numerous divisional, overall high score awards, entertainment, choreography, costume, special judges awards and many more.

They won golden tickets to attend the SDA World Championship and will attend the StarPower Nationals this July in Branson, Mo.

The public can see all of the award winning numbers at YDID’s 29th annual dance recital May 1.
