RESERVE — St. James Community Theater leaders said they were “Ogre the moon” to announce auditions for “Shrek: The Musical.”
Auditions are at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Peter School, 188 W. 7th St. in Reserve with an informational meeting, where audition materials will be distributed and a short dance will be taught.
Information on the auditioning process and dates and times of other audition nights will be announced.
St. James Community Theater leaders said they are looking to build on the success of last summer’s “The Addams Family-A New Musical Comedy” and are thrilled to have Darryl P. Clement back as director and designer for this year’s production.
Clement is looking for all ages to fill lead and featured roles, alongside an ensemble cast.
Shrek: The Musical is a tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue.
Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and more fairy tale misfits and it creates the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, that is where Shrek comes into play.
Show dates are planned July 22–24, 29 and 31 at St. Peter’s School in Reserve.
Those unable to make the audition meeting or who would like more information can email auditions@stjamestheater.org.
