Dr. Troxler leading Animal Control

LULING — Dr. Jena Troxler has been hired to lead the St. Charles Parish Office of Animal Control.
Parish President Larry Cochran said Troxler will lead and enhance the Parish’s “top-notch facility” with customer-service as a priority.
Troxler leads a staff of seven at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter in Luling by integrating medicine and management in an effort to streamline the office’s services.
Prior to this role, Troxler worked in private practice, while being the sole veterinarian since 2008 for the St. Charles Humane Society, providing on-site medical care for the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter.
Troxler holds a degree in veterinary medicine from LSU and bachelor of science in biology/chemistry from Loyola University.
While working as a microbiology research specialist in school, her team of scientists discovered and marketed the current test in use for diagnosis of Lyme disease in dogs. She brings a host of special skills to the Animal Control Office including: all soft tissue surgery, client education, local law, disaster relief plans and feral cat education and sterilization.
