Dominik Johnson is charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm. He remains in custody in lieu of a $130,000 bond following his Wednesday arrest.

A St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said the suspect is connected to armed robberies that occurred Feb. 27 on Hebert Drive and Aug. 29 on River Pointe Drive.

Authorities said the Aug. 29 robbery involved stolen cash and pizza.

A 19-year-old male victim told deputies he was making a pizza delivery when two male juveniles robbed him sometime after 9:20 p.m. in the 100 block of River Pointe Drive in Reserve.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said the victim told investigators he exited his truck with an order when the two perpetrators approached, one in a red-hooded sweatshirt and one in a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.

“One perpetrator pointed a handgun at the victim and told him to drop the pizzas and to empty his wallet,” Tregre said. “After the victim complied with the demands of the perpetrator, the two perpetrators fled on foot with the pizza order and cash from the victim’s wallet.”

Police have not released any information about a second suspect or arrest.

Johnson was previously arrested March 12 for criminal trespassing, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, resisting an officer, illegal carrying of a firearm and illegal carrying a firearm in a firearm free zone.

According to authorities that arrest came after five teens made a trip to East St. John Elementary School.

“Deputies found the subjects on the campus of the vacant East St. John Elementary School,” Tregre said. “As deputies began to investigate the complaint, one of the subjects fled. After a brief foot pursuit and as the deputy apprehended the subject, the subject threw a handgun that was in his possession.”

Sgt. Dane Clement said weapons are not allowed on campus, adding authorities do not know what Johnson, who detectives believed had a gun, planned to do with the concealed weapon.

Clement said the teens did not have permission to be on the campus and authorities are unaware as to the reason they were there.

“There is no indication that they were trying to break into the school,” Clement said.

Johnson was released March 24 on a $14,000 bond.
